Bilbo Baggins’s Birthday: A Celebration & Fundraiser

COME DEAR FOLK!

Join us on Saturday, September the 21st, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM for a celebration of the life of Bilbo Baggins with a fundraiser to help two families survive the danger and hardship in Gaza. We’ll be hosting two events in Portland’s beautiful Montavilla neighborhood: a sale of games, books, art, and other items at Montavilla Plaza and a game day at Board Bard Games.

THERE WERE SONGS, DANCES, MUSIC, GAMES, AND, OF COURSE, FOOD AND DRINK.

Our sale at Montavilla Plaza will have two components:

• A rummage sale of tabletop games, art and books, all with tiered sliding-scale pricing, and

• A raffle of goods generously donated by local businesses, collectors, and game designers near and far.

Meanwhile, our game day at Board Bard Games will consist of several events:

• A Magic: The Gathering Chaos Draft, beginning at 1:00 PM. To play, bring:

  • A sliding scale cash only donation of $15-30

  • 3 booster packs. You can also purchase booster packs on site if needed.

• A game of The One Ring tabletop role-playing game, with space for four players, running from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a suggested donation of $15-30 to play. Sign-ups are available here.

• A game of the board game Root, with space for four players, running from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, with a suggested donation of $15-30 to play. Sign-ups are available here.

• And finally, Tim Hutchings, the designer of Thousand Year Old Vampire, will be running his upcoming game So You’ve Met A Thousand Year Old Vampire. This event will begin at 12:30 PM and have space for five players.

THE WORLD IS FULL ENOUGH OF HURTS AND MISCHANCES WITHOUT WARS TO MULTIPLY THEM

As mentioned above, this event is a fundraiser, and for a very worthy cause. Nael and Duaa are both struggling mightily to provide for their families during the current bloodshed in Gaza. Every purchase and donation you make at this event will help them to do so.
